Mike was educated in the New Hanover County School System, graduating from John T. Hoggard High School in the class of 1985. Immediately upon graduation, Mike joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served our country for 24 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant.
Mike was predeceased by his father, Thomas Brown, and his brother Antony Carroway. He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving, devoted and caring wife, LaTasha B. Carroway of the home; his son, Montrel Carroway; his daughter, Brandi Carroway; his mother, Jannie B. Shuford; four sisters, Phyllis Irizarry, Lucinda Carroway, Sharon D. Sidbury, Nichelle (Joey), three brothers, Carl Carroway, Jr., Ronald Shuford and Brett Blanks; four aunts, Melvena Ross, Geraldine Jones; Celeste Fullwood and Rheda Brown; five uncles, Kenneth Jones, James Pearson, William (Faye) Pearson, William Lacewell and Ronald Lacewell; Mother-in-law, Mrs. Tobe (Larry) Holcombe; Father-in-law, Mr. David (Faye) Baldwin; Sister-in-law, Courtney (King) Romero; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Memorial Service will be held at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, 1500 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27534, on Wednesday, 07 June 2023 at 1230 Hours. Inurnment & Military Honors, Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The American Cancer Society or the charity of your liking.
Due to the difficulties of this season, the family will not be accepting visitors in the home. Thank you for respecting the family's privacy.
