A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Charlene touched the lives of many with her warmth, compassion, and dedication to her community. She graduated from John T. Hoggard High School in 1972, setting the stage for a lifetime of leadership and care.
Charlene married the love of her life, Davie Waggett, on July 10, 1976. Together they raised two children, Blair Waggett and Brooke Batts, and built a family rooted in love, humor, and faith. Charlene adored her grandchildren, John, Sam, Mac, Lila, Charlotte, and Hilton, each of whom brought her endless joy.
Her professional journey included roles as a Business Administrator at their pharmacies, and within the Physical Therapy Department at UNC Hospital, where she was known for her steady support, kindness, and compassion.

She served as PTA President for many years, President of the Henderson Junior Women's Club, President of NC Junior Sorosis here in Wilmington, served on the Carolinas(NC/SC) Board of FCA, and she was honored with the FCA Ring of Honor Award for her impact and influence on the National level.
Charlene was an active member of Port City Community Church, where she was engaged in her small group and volunteered in several other areas of ministry including premarital mentoring, children's ministry on Sunday mornings, coordinating meals for special events and a part of the Prayer Team offering prayer and guidance rooted in faith, grace and loved experience.
