Michael Joseph Cino, 61, Entrepreneur and Advocate, Passes Away in Chatham, N.J.
Michael Joseph Cino, an accomplished entrepreneur, political figure, and advocate for Italian American heritage, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Chatham, New Jersey. Born in Jackson Heights, New York, and raised in Demarest, NJ, Michael was the eldest son of Helen and Victor Cino. He demonstrated exceptional intellect from a young age, excelling in academics. Michael graduated from Dwight Englewood High School in Englewood, NJ, furthering his education he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
After graduation, Michael joined his family's business, which included owning and operating gas service stations, providing wholesale gasoline and home fuel oil, and later pioneering environmental cleanup initiatives. His interests also extended into politics, where he ran for U.S. Congress to represent Bergen County, driven by his passion for public service. A dedicated member of his community, Michael was a 4th Degree Knight of the New Jersey North Division of the Knights of Columbus.
Michael is survived by his mother, Helen Cino, his sisters Debbie Dennerlein (husband Kyle) and Tammy Pryor (husband Greg), as well as his beloved nephews, Skylar and Preston Dennerlein, and nieces, Sydney and Kaila Pryor.
A funeral mass to celebrate Michael's life will be on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Church of Christ the King in New Vernon, followed by the interment at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Michael's memory may be made to The Boys Club of NY, that was instrumental in the education and development of his father www.bcny.org
