Michael William Collins

Michael William Collins, age 76, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday February 1, 2023. Michael was born in Antigo to the late Marion and William Collins on April 10, 1946. He graduated from Menasha High School in 1964. On August 10, 1968, Michael was united in marriage to his beautiful wife Connie Collins at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton. In high school, Michael joined the printing club and started working at Banta. He was a dedicated employee for 40 + years.
Mike was proud of his three daughters and eight grandkids. He showed his love for them by being present at nearly all their events. He shared his love for music with his brother Bob and passed it on to his family. Mike enjoyed the outdoors, especially hurting with his brother Jack and friends. Mike had a strong sense of dedication to family. He showed his love for his sister, Luanne, by visiting her every day when she needed it most. Some of Mike's best days were spent on Anna Maria Island with his wife. Since his wife passed away last year, Mike learned the price of eggs is no longer 50 cents and how many holiday decorations she really had in the basement. Given all of that, Mike tired his best to keep the family traditions alive after her passing and would reward himself with a glass of Irish Whiskey for making it another day.
Michael is survived by his daughters: Jill Arnoldussen, Beth (Randall) Reed, and Patti (Ben) Fouts; grandchildren: Matt (Brooke), Seth, Sam, Lilie, Spencer, Lucie, Aubrey, Ellie, and Rachel; sisters-in-law: Barb Collins and JoAnn Collins; brothers-in-law, Ken Vander Zanden, Bill (Cindy) Nack and Gary Nack. He is further survived by his Godson and namesake, Michael Collins and many nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his devoted wife Connie Collins, brothers, Bob Collins and Jack Collins, sister LuAnne Vander Zanden, and brother-in-law, Jeff Nack.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 2 pm on Thursday, February 9 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St. Appleton, with Father Mark Mleziva officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm at the church until the time of service at 2:00pm.
