Wade Funeral Home & Crematory - ArlingtonMichael "Mike" Avery Connor
April 1, 1958 - August 17, 2025
The world just got a little quieter and a whole lot less interesting with the passing of Mike Connor, who left us on August 17, 2025 at the age of 67. Spirited, ornery, and funny to the very end, he was a one of a kind character who lived life on his own terms, usually with a mischievous grin and a sarcastic comment ready to go.
Mike was born in New Mexico, raised across various parts of Texas, and spent his adult life residing in Arlington, Texas where he raised his children, Tim and Aurielle. Mike found the love of his life, Cindy, while they were both working for Southwest Airlines in different cities. After many years and many proposals, she finally gave in and they married on March 14, 1987.
Mike dedicated 31 years to Southwest Airlines, serving most of that time as a Flight Dispatcher. For 16 of those years, he also held the role of Union President for SAEA and TWU Local 550. He left a lasting impact on the airline industry, the dispatch profession, and, most importantly, the people he faithfully represented.
He found joy in the simple things: time on the lake, good music, meaningful conversations, and cheering on his teams - the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. Mike also shared an unbreakable bond with his dog, Ty, his loyal companion who was rarely far from his side.
Mike is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cindy, his brother Timothy (Tim) Connor and his parents Herman (Pat) and Prudie Atkins Connor.
He is survived by his son Tim Connor II and wife Kara, his daughter Aurielle Connor, sisters Molly (& Paul) Yeager, Laura (& James) Robinson, brother Marvin (& Patti) Connor, beloved grandchildren Cade & Quinn Connor, and Memphis Martin as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who loved and enjoyed his company.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 11:00am at the Arlington Backyard at Texas Live!. In lieu of flowers, tell someone a bad joke, speak your mind, or help someone out when they least expect it, just like he always did.
