Michael Cooke Obituary
Michael Furley Cooke was born May1, 1963 in Midwest City, OK to parents HF Jr. and Colene Cooke. Mike passed away suddenly on August 3, 2024. Mike is now with his Lord and Savior and reunited with his daughter Katie.
Mike graduated from Western Heights High School in 1981. Mike attended Central State University (UCO) in Edmond, OK and was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Mike started working at Wetherbee Electric Inc in 1984. He obtained his Electrical Journeyman license and continued to his Electrical Contractor License. Mike purchased Wetherbee Electric Inc in 2006 when his father retired. Mike has been employed by Wetherbee Electric Inc for 40 years, and he has been an owner for 18 years. Mike was looking forward to working side by side with his son Evan and excited to be able to retire knowing Evan would continue Wetherbee for years to come.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Sonny, his mother Colene and his daughter Katie. Mike leaves behind his loving wife Carrie Cooke, his son Evan Cooke and his beautiful wife Chelsea, his pride and joy – granddaughter Chandler Cooke, his sister Kim Holly, and a long list of cousins, nieces and nephews. Mike also leaves behind an amazing group of fraternity brothers and lake friends he considers to be family.
Mike loved his family with his whole heart, and nothing was more important to him than just being together. His love for his friends was strong and he spoke it frequently. Mike was a light to be around and always brought joy and wit to any occasion. He was admired by many for his strong and unwavering faith, which he shared often. Mike would want each of you to know that life should be lived to the fullest. “Kindness is doing what you can, where you are, with what you have.”
Mike’s pallbearers are Evan Cooke, Hank Darcey, Allen Smith, Kelly Smith, Corey Smith, Chris Darcey, Maxwell Darcey and Gary Nebgen.
