Rivera Family Funerals & Cremations of Santa Fe and Santa Fe Memorial GardeMichael Ross Cowder (Mickey) meet with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully on Sept 15, 2025. Mickey was met at the gates of Heaven by his father Leo & brother Gary.
Mickey will be fondly remembered for his humor and wit. Mickey loved fishing and camping as well as his time in ROTC and his immediate family.
Mickey is survived by his mother Alice, sons Robert (Carla), Russell (Angelic), daughter Petra, and his grandkids, Alexis, Gabriel, Matthew, Cody, Lizzy and Percy. His siblings, KC, Shelly and Dale.
Mickey will be laid to rest by the following pallbearers Sam Patty, Marwin Espinoza, Dennis Patty, Joe Lopez, Carl Twibell and Ray Engstrom. Honorary pallbearers are Alexis, Gabriel, Matthew, Cody, Lizzy and Percy.
Visitation will take place on October 7, 2025, from 11:30am to 12:30pm in the Kiva Chapel at Rivera Family Funeral home, 417 E Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe, NM followed by a memorial service at 12:30pm. Interment to follow at the National Cemetery at 2:30 with full Military Honors.
Refreshments will be served after the burial at Montezuma Lodge #1 AF&AM, 431 Paseo De Peralta, Santa Fe, NM. The family welcomes you to attend and share your memories of Mickey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Mickey’s name/honor be made to the local cancer foundation.
