Michael G. Cronin

It is with great sorrow that the family of Michael (Mike) G. Cronin, announce his sudden passing May, 19, 2023. Born in Wetzlar, Germany he was the son of the Late Daniel and Irma (Marx) Cronin. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl (Crossman) Cronin.
Michael and his family moved to the United States in 1961, eventually settling in Beverly, MA. He was educated at Beverly High School and later North Shore Community College. Shortly after high school Michael entered the US Army and served his country until 1974. Michael was a career Fire Fighter with the Beverly Fire Department, which he proudly served for over 30 years.
Michael was a sports enthusiast and played many sports. He especially enjoyed being on the Russo's softball team where he became "Mon Ami" (my friend) to all who met him. He will be sadly missed by his many friends.
He also enjoyed the many road trips he took with friends, especially the cross- country trip visiting many national parks with his wife and dear friends Terry and Brian Tamilio.
In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by, one son Michael Cronin and his wife Kelly as well as his adored grandchildren, Wesley and Kya. Michael cherished his special Wednesdays with his grandchildren. Three siblings, Mary and Steve Barber, Daniel Cronin, JC- John Cronin. Niece, Carly Barber and nephew Ian Barber. Other family, Marlene Hardiman, Christine and Skip Crossman, and Brenda and Brian Miller. He was predeceased by other siblings, Ellen Cronin, Heinz-Otto Marx and Christa Cunningham. And special friend Andy Hawryluk.
His funeral service will be celebrated at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Friday, May 26th 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be on Thursday, May 25th from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Burial will be at North Beverly Cemetery, Beverly. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Michael's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
