Michael Thomas Daggett, 74, passed away peacefully in the arms of loved ones on August 3rd, 2023 in Georgetown, Texas.
Michael was born on the Ides of March (March 15th) 1949 in Granby, Missouri to Sherwood (Sherry) and Roberta (Bobbie) Daggett. He was the youngest sibling of Patrick, Kay, and Sharon. Michael was an Air Force brat, spending formative years in the Philippines and Okinawa. He played football at Southeast High School, Pratt Community College and Emporia State in Kansas before enlisting in the Air Force and serving in Vietnam at Phu Bai Combat Base. After being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant, he returned home to complete his degree in Accounting at Wichita State University.
He moved to San Francisco for his first job, falling in love with its beauty while biking up and down large hills throughout the city. In 1975, he joined his brother and fellow accountant in Phoenix, Arizona which served as his home for over 30 years. After starting a practice with his brother, they continued working together for the rest of his career. He was dedicated to his profession with an unshakeable sense of ethics. He served as a respected and distinguished leader in numerous professional boards in Arizona and nationally, including Chairman for the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. Dedicated to charity and service, he was past president of Kiwanis Club of Phoenix and took great pride in his years organizing the annual Phoenix Children's Day at the Fair.
He loved teaching and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Michael was an avid fan and longtime season ticket holder of the Phoenix Suns. He was a dedicated fan of Arizona and Texas athletics, present at several of the championship games for the Diamondbacks and Texas Longhorns. He was often seen biking around North Phoenix on Sunday mornings and got endless enjoyment from defeating his loved ones at Spades and Cribbage. Since marrying his wife Sharon Lord Daggett, he has spent precious unforgettable years traveling, playing golf, and spending time with their families in Arizona, Texas and California.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, children Samantha Michele Gort and Anthony Michael Daggett, stepchildren Shelly Humphries and Summer Rydel, grandchildren Sean, Connor, Mckenna, Michael, Dominic, Rylee, Brooke and Austin, nieces and nephews, friends he treated as family throughout his communities in Phoenix, Texas, and wherever his bright light touched. He is and will always be beloved and remembered as a sensitive, kind, unwavering, fun-loving, opinionated and affectionate soul.
Celebrations of life will be held at 10am August 12th in Georgetown, Texas at Ramsey Funeral Home and at 2pm August 26th in Glendale, Arizona at Arrowhead Country Club. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and share their fondest memories.

I worked for Michael Daggett when he was in partnership with Ann Cleveland. He was always a kind person and a great boss.

When I first met Michael, I had told him I worked for the VA and was so proud and honored that every patient I took care of was a veteran. Until the end we had a special bond because of our shared patriotism. A beautiful man... completed by his beautiful wife Sassi. Missing that smile. My deepest condolences.
