Michael DASHIELL

August 17, 1950 - October 5, 2025

Federal Way - Michael "Mike" Kelly Dashiell passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of October 5th, 2025, at the Seattle VA Hospital, where he valiantly battled with liver cancer from metastatic melanoma. His wife, daughter, and son were by his side. Mike was born on August 17th, 1950, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington, to David Kelly Dashiell and Grace Margaret McKeirnan. After graduating from Lewis and Clark High School in 1969, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he was stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam at Freedom Hill. Following his time in the Marines, Mike went into the oil fields. He worked as a saturation diver, which took him to many places around the world. He met and married his wife, San Peng, in 1980 while working offshore in Singapore, and later moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where they had their daughter, Lisa, and son, Dennis. The family would later move back to the states in 1990, where Mike and San Peng would reside in the Puget Sound area and raise their children. Michael is survived by his wife, San Peng; daughter, Lisa Dashiell; son, Dennis Dashiell; grandson, Christian Anderson; his three sisters, Marcia Dashiell, Sheila Kato, and Annette Bowman and their families. Family and friends of Mike will remember him as a selflessly devoted family man, provider with a dedication to his work, his love and admiration for his grandson, and his unintended sense of humor.
