Michael L. Davidson 75 of Kirtland, NM went to be home with his Lord and Savior on Friday September 19, 2025. Michael was born in Farmington, NM on September 6, 1950, the son of Elmer Davidson and Frieda (Foutz) Davidson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He cared deeply about Jesus, his community, serving and helping others, and loved all animals, especially his dogs! Mike lived life to the fullest with a sense of humor that was one of a kind, always joking and pranking others with a goal of bringing a smile to their face. Michael was selfless in all of his actions and always there to help anyone in need, lend a hand, or bring a smiling face to any situation.
Michael was a lifetime resident of Kirtland, NM graduating from KCHS in 1968. After one semester in college in Ohio he enlisted in the US Army, he served as an infantry Sergeant with the Red Catchers - Charlie Unit for 15 months during the Vietnam War. After his military service he returned to his hometown of Kirtland where he married his wife of 53 years, Cynthia and pursued his dream of becoming a police officer. He worked for the San Juan County Sheriff's department as a Deputy (one of 14 at the time) Sergeant, and Lieutenant during his 28-year career, the last 8 as the San Juan County Sheriff. After retiring from law enforcement, he worked as the interim director of the 911 center as well as 10 additional years as the parks and facilities administrator for San Juan County. In retirement he stayed as busy as ever with days full of family, friends, yard work, dog walks, motorcycle rides, visits to speedway for coffee, potato chips, and chocolate, helping others, joking and laughing.
Michael is survived by his wife Cynthia, daughter Christy, son in law Carlos, grandchildren Cameron and Madison, son Brent, daughter in law Paige, grandchildren Rylan and Bria. Sisters Storme, Dayna, Starr (Mark), Michelle (Nate).
He was proceeded in death by his parents, as well as his sister Sheri, brother Doug, nephew Jason Seifried, brother-in-law Norman Thompson, nephew Kyle Thompson.
Services will be held at the Hills Church in Farmington, NM on Thursday, September 25th at 1:00pm.
