Fort Fairfield - Michael T. Dewey, 53, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, doing what he loved, riding his snowmobile. He was born on June 22, 1971, in Hartford, CT, to Thomas and Eleanor (Lomnicky) Dewey.
Michael was a loving and kind person who always went the extra mile to help others. A perfectionist by nature, he approached everything he did with dedication and a commitment to excellence. He was a devoted fiancé to Sharon, and cherished his relationships with his mother, Eleanor "Ellie"; his sister, Gredel and her husband Brian; nephew Evan, and his mother and father-in-law Dawn and Mark. Michael also leaves behind many other family members and close friends.
He was predeceased by his loving Auntie Jan, a close friend, Joe whom he loved like a brother. He is also predeceased by his beloved cat Godzilla.
Professionally, Michael excelled as a Software Quality Control Specialist III. This career allowed him and Sharon the flexibility to live where they desired (Aroostook County). His passion for snowmobiling led him to join the Fort Fairfield Snowmobile Club in 2018, a club he enjoyed and considered a significant part of his life. He was also an active member of the online community dootalk.com, where he shared his love of riding and sled maintenance.
Michael's life was marked by his generous spirit, his dedication to his work, his love for his family and his passion for snowmobiling. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that all who knew him will deeply miss.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Michael in a special way may make gifts payable in his memory to the Fort Fairfield Snowmobile Club, P.O. Box 233, Fort Fairfield, ME 04742.
