Michael W. Dooley

Michael William Dooley, age 70, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on April 26, 2024. He was born on September 19, 1953, in Vincennes, Indiana. Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an active church member at Servants of Christ Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council, taught Sunday school, and was the church librarian. He graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1971 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from MacMurray College in 1975. Mike worked as a surgical technician and claims processor for Community Hospitals in Indianapolis for thirty-six years until his retirement in 2015. Mike enjoyed all types of music and was a DJ for the student-run radio station while in college. He had an extensive music collection and also enjoyed writing, often contributing editorials to newspapers and magazines, as well as writing long letters to family and friends. Mike is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda (Pace) Dooley, his children Erin Dooley, Sean Dooley (wife Christa), and Kevin Dooley (wife Abby), as well as six grandchildren; Liam, Ellie, Raegan, Sean Jr., Ethan, and Jacob. He is also survived by his brothers Jon Dooley and Martin Dooley, his sister Lori Lininger, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Reah (Stevens) Lininger, his father William Dooley, his brother Floyd Dooley, and his granddaughter Helen Dooley. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4th, at Servants of Christ Lutheran Church in Indianapolis from 10 am to noon, followed by the funeral service at noon. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
