Michael David Dower

Michael D. Dower, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at his home in Vernon Hills. He was born August 15, 1966 in Kenosha, WI where he was a graduate of Tremper High School. Michael went to trade school where he received a degree in Tool & Die making and was employed by Precision Resource in Vernon Hills for the past 20 years.
Mike enjoyed the outdoors, cars, watching the Green Bay Packers, and most of all, spending time with his family. He especially loved to spend time with his 10-year-old son, Dominick, whom he shared his birthday with and cherished their nickname together, "the birthday buddies". Some of his favorite things to do were take his son to his baseball, basketball, football, and bowling games. He was an amazing father, "the Best Dad ever" as Dominick would lovingly call him. Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Kelly Kostuch-Dower; four children, Jace (Christine) Dower, Jenna Dower, Lilliana Dower, Dominick Dower; son in spirit, Andrew Ruleford, grandchildren, Carson, Peyton, Charlotte; Mother, Lynda Dower; Brother, Scott (Jeanette) Dower; Nieces, Brittany (Matthew) Doan, Shelbi Dower, Ashley Mayr, and Maddie Kostuch, nephew, Kyle Mayr, and by his extended family.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rte. 176 One block west of Milwaukee Ave.) Libertyville. Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
