Michael J. Doyle, 64, a resident of Canton, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Son of Jeannette (Whooley) Doyle of Stoughton and the late John J. “Jack” Doyle, he was born in Boston and raised in Stoughton. He was a graduate of Stoughton High School Class of 1978. Mike enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in Cherry Point, NC where he served over 14 years as an aviation mechanic working on Harrier Jets. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his military service, he was a police officer for the town of Stoughton for 25 years before retiring in 2021. He loved antique cars and traveling but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by his children, David Ackerman, John Doyle and Michael Doyle as well as his siblings, Jeannette M. Doyle-Gay and John J. Doyle, Jr. both of Stoughton, Dianne M. Doyle of Norton and Kathleen M. McCormack of Easton. He is also survived by his longtime companion Lynne Andrews of Canton, his niece and several nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, April 10 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Prayers will be offered from the funeral home on Friday, April 11 at 11 AM. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
