Michael Shawn Dreher, born on September 29, 1972, in Little Rock, Arkansas, sadly passed away on August 31 2024. He leaves behind a rich legacy of creativity and warmth that will be cherished by many.
Michael was a 1989 graduate of McClellan High School in Little Rock. He dedicated over 30 years to the art of stage building and design, making a memorable impact in the field. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a vibrant personality with a wealth of knowledge. Renowned for his intelligence, Michael was like a walking encyclopedia, capable of outwitting anyone in trivia. His knack for navigation was equally impressive; he could return to any destination he visited, a testament to his exceptional memory and passion for exploration.
A talented musician, Michael was a dedicated bass player and an integral member of the band, The Goods. His enthusiasm for music was infectious, filling the lives of those around him with rhythm and joy. He had a particular fondness for cheese dip, a treat he believed enhanced the taste of everything.
Michael's love for his family extended to his furry companions, Mick, Bella, and Roxy, who were more than just pets—they were his constant companions, bringing him much happiness and fulfilling his life with unconditional love.
He is survived by his loving siblings, Regina Edmonson and husband Danny of Bryant, Arkansas, and Scott Allen Dreher of South Haven, Mississippi. He was deeply loved by his partner, Blaine Ballard of Little Rock, Arkansas, and fondly remembered by his father-in-law, Don G. Ballard of Montezuma, Indiana. Michael's legacy also lives on through numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Henry A. Dreher, Jr. and Roberta Jean Scott Dreher, and his brother, Henry Allen Dreher, III.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 13, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, where family and friends are invited to gather and honor the extraordinary man Michael was.
