Michael “Mike” Elder, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away June 29th, 2025. He was born in Indianapolis, January 8th, 1955, to parents Jack Elder and Barbara Bradley.
Mike grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from John Marshall High School.
A very hard worker, Mike drove trucks for Bunzel for many years before retiring. He later worked part time at Elmore’s Gun Shop.
Mike proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
For over 20 years, Mike shared his life with fiancé Ellie Moore, whom he adored and considered his partner in life.
Mike was a strong, loving, family man. He enjoyed being social and spending time with his family. A lifelong, avid gun enthusiast, Mike had an extensive gun collection. He was also passionate about motorcycles and rode his Harley as often as he could.
Mike is survived by his fiancé’s daughter Eve, whom he raised as his own; siblings Cynthia (Scott) France, Linda (The Late Jim) Matthews, William “Bill” (Kim) Elder, and Sally (Robert) LaBoon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents.
Mike’s memorial visitation will be Friday July 11th, from 5-7pm. His memorial service will begin at 7pm, concluding with military honors.
