Michael Engelking Obituary
Mike was employed with Cummins Engine Company for 37 years. In 1977, he moved to Charleston, South Carolina, with Cummins, and in 1985, transferred to Rocky Mount, North Carolina, where he retired in 2002. Following retirement, he moved to Huntsville to do consulting work.
A devout Christian for over 70 years, Mike loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ above all. He was an active member of Willowbrook Church where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed playing golf with friends and family. He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating with his sons and grandsons. He loved Alabama football and basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Florence Engelking. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Brenda Branstetter Engelking; sons, Tim Engelking (Jennifer), Kevin Engelking, and Tony Engelking (Jennifer); grandchildren, Dillon (Stacy), Emily, Thomas (Logan), Payton (Genevieve), and Brady; siblings, Mary Easter (Dave), Linda Elkins (Skip), Davied Engelking, Steve Engelking, Connie Satterwhite (Gary) Rebecca Powell, and Kelly Engelking; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many special friends in the Lighthouse Group at Willowbrook Church.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh; Brian Gilroy, Pastor of Garden City Christian Church will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Mike may be made to the Garden City Christian Church, 3245 Jonesville Road, Columbus, Indiana 47201 or cards are available at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home..
The family would like to thank Fresenius Kidney Care Huntsville Home, especially his nurse, Connie Cook.
