Michael F. Ferreer

Michael F. Ferreer, of Shrewsbury, a cherished son, loving brother, and devoted friend, who passed unexpectedly on January 6, 2026, at the age of 46. Michael was born on January 13, 1979, in Melrose, Massachusetts, and spent his life spreading kindness to everyone he encountered.

Michael was the beloved son of Francis T. Ferreer and Maureen K. (Kiley) Ferreer, who both survive him. He was raised in a loving home where family values were paramount, and his caring nature was nurtured from an early age. He is also survived by his dear sister, Jacquelyn M. Ferreer, her partner, Joseph Saster, and their son, Dante Saster, who brought him immense joy. Michael leaves behind an uncle Michael Ferreer and his wife Silvia, and two aunts Pat Ferreer and Cookie Kiley, along with many cousins, including Felice Ferreer, Sharon Duncan, Mea Massaro, and Kyle Borces, as well as a circle of wonderful friends and business associates who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

A proud graduate of Saint John's High School in Shrewsbury, Michael continued his education at Boston University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications, specializing in Advertising and Spanish, graduating in 2001. His thirst for knowledge did not stop there; he later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance and Marketing at the University of Massachusetts-Boston.

Throughout his professional career, Michael made significant contributions to both the banking and marketing industries. His journey began at Ogilvy One, where he excelled as an Account Executive and Assistant in various departments. In 2003, he joined East Cambridge Savings Bank as the Vice President of Marketing, where he dedicated a decade of his life. Michael went on to serve as Director at CFE Federal Credit Union before taking on the role of Chief Member Officer/Senior Vice President at Direct Federal Credit Union in Needham in 2014. His colleagues remember him as a compassionate leader who was always willing to lend a helping hand and share his expertise.

Beyond his professional achievements, Michael passionately engaged with his community. He enjoyed coaching basketball for younger generations, fostering a love of the sport and teaching valuable life lessons through teamwork and perseverance. Michael was an avid reader and a gifted creative writer. He had a deep appreciation for music of all genres and was known for his infectious dance moves.

Michael's kind and caring nature touched the lives of many. He was always there for his friends and family, offering a listening ear, words of encouragement, and a warm smile. His genuine love for others will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, Michael.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Saint Anne's Church Human Services, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545, in honor of Michael's legacy of kindness and service.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Michael's family on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His funeral will be on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10:00 AM at Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA followed by burial at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
