Michael Geron Fields, a native of Bonnieville KY, and resident of Houma, LA passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
Family and friends are invited to Graveside Military Honors at Kentucky National Cemetery Central at 2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY 40160, on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 12:30p.m.
Mike is survived by his loving family his, wife, CW2 Melissa Fields; children, Miranda Fields, Alayna Fields; grand-daughter, Ella Fields; parents Donald and Mary Hornback; birth mother, Theresa Fulkerson; step-father, SFC Steven Polyard, Todd Fulkerson; Sister's Courtney Hagan, Stephanie Daley and husband MSG Josh, Marybeth Maynard and husband Jacob, Bonnie Russell, Lauran Jordan and husband Johnathon; brother Dillion Munion. The family would like to also recognize his fellow military brothers, CW2 Scott Wright, CW4 Carlos Nosworthy, CW3 Paul Valdez; Close friend Wayne Smith.
Mike is preceded in passing by his, grandfather MSG Glen Polyard.
Mike was proud to serve his country in the United States Army entering active-duty January 26, 2006, and with a medical retirement April 16, 2020. He completed his training as an Army Watercraft Operator, serving in multiple units and completing missions in Japan, Gitmo. Deploying to Kuwait for 15 months in 2007-2008, and Afghanistan 2011-2012. His Professionalism, technical expertise and leadership led to the completion of the Warrant Officer Basic Course and Marine Deck Officer Course in 2012-2013. As a Vessel Master Mike completed countless mission along the east coast of the United States, Columbia and deployed to Kuwait 2014-2015. Held the position of Company Commander in 2018. Throughout his service mike devoted his time and talent to the watercraft field. His legacy lives on in the soldiers he led and mentored, and the family bonds he created.
