Michael J. Flounlacker

Michael John "Mike" Flounlacker, 76, passed away on April 28, 2025, in Naples, Florida. Born on November 6, 1948, in Washington, D.C., Mike lived a life marked by dedication, service, and compassion. He was also known for his generosity. Summarizing Mike as plainly as possible? Be careful if you compliment the shirt he's wearing. That's a very slippery slope, "hey, I like your shirt" meant that he was going to give it to you. Literally.
He graduated from Lampeter Strasburg High School and earned his degree from Millersville University in Pennsylvania. Mike went on to build a distinguished career in the automotive industry spanning over 45 years. He held leadership roles as Body Shop Manager at Faulkner BMW in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and later as Service Director at Germaine BMW in Naples. His professionalism and warmth left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike.
Mike proudly served in the United States Navy from September 1968 to May 1970 aboard the USS Waldron (DD699), earning the National Defense Service Medal for his honorable service.
His passion for automobiles extended beyond his career. In 2019, Mike began volunteering at Revs Institute in Naples, contributing over 1,200 hours as a Station Guide and Docent. His enthusiasm and generosity made him a favorite among visitors. Mike also dedicated many years to volunteering with equine therapy programs, including Naples Therapeutic Riding Center and Special Equestrians, Inc. in Fort Myers. He found inspiration in the courage of the riders and valued the friendships formed through these organizations.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Karen; Surviving in addition to his wife Karen are two sisters, Kitty Casper and Mary Hess (Mike) both of Lancaster County; brother, Joe Flounlacker (Claudia) of Lancaster and sister-in-law Konnie of Lancaster. Mike will also be sorely missed by his nephews Kevin (Laura) and Zack (Rachel) Flounlacker, his sister and brother-in-law, Chris and Ron Krawczyk of Naples, and his beloved dog Maggie. He was predeceased by his parents, Helen and Morris Flounlacker, and his brother, John Flounlacker.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 8, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Seasons 52, 8930 Tamiami Trail North, Naples, Florida.
