Michael Wayne Fojtik, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, in his home in Berclair, Texas, at the age of 71.
Michael was born April 30, 1954, in Beeville, to Rudolph Adolph Fojtik and Dovey Lee (Uzzell) Fojtik. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1973, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Following his military service, he built a distinguished career as a mud engineer in the oilfield industry.
On October 25, 1986, Michael married the love of his life, Elizabeth Carpenter, in Beeville. Together, they built not only a partnership but also a warm and nurturing family. He was an avid outdoorsman who cherished camping, fishing and traveling. He found immense pleasure in watching sports, particularly when cheering for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. His talent extended to music, as he loved to play the banjo and guitar for friends and family. Michael took great pride in caring for his property, which he considered his dream home, as well as in tending to his garden alongside Elizabeth. Additionally, he found fulfillment in caring for their many animals and loved the time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rudolph and Dovey Fojtik; and two brothers, Timothy and Patrick Fojtik.
Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Elizabeth (Carpenter) Fojtik; daughters Hayley Fojtik and Kelcey (Brad) Gamble; son Travis Fojtik; grandsons Danny, Gavin, and Gage; sister Kitty Fojtik; brother Joe Fojtik; and nieces Andrea (Conrad) Ignasiak, Lisa Fojtik, Lori Fojtik and Emily Fojtik.
A celebration of life service will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 15, at the Fojtik residence, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate his life.
