David Ray Diaz, born on November 19, 1960, in Three Rivers, Texas, departed this life on November 3, 2025, in San Antonio at the age of 64. A dedicated member of the Beeville community and the construction industry, David was known for his hard work and family commitment.
His life was enriched by his deep Catholic faith, a guiding principle that influenced many aspects of his daily life. He had a passion for music, which brought him joy, and he cherished the moments spent reading. However, what truly brought him fulfillment was the time he spent with his family, particularly with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria (Diaz) Gonzales, and his father, Adam Flores.
Left behind to cherish fond memories include his beloved companion, Patricia Velasquez; his two sons, Michael (Ashley) Diaz and David Ray Diaz Jr.; and his two daughters, Gloria R. Diaz and Dannette A. Diaz. David's legacy continues through his brother, George Rosales; his sister, Mary Gonzales; and his half sister, Brenda (Joe) Galvan. He was also the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren, Westin Ray Lehman, Aiden Lehman, Anayah Diaz, Maricela M. Diaz, Miguel A. Diaz, Amelia Diaz, Adrian J. Diaz, Megan Valle, Tyler Gallemore, Hayden Diaz, Jayce Raygen Diaz and Addilyn Ofilia Diaz; a great-grandchild, Zaylen Hammond; and several other half brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday November 7, at Angelus Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 10 o’clock. The funeral service will be conducted there at 10:30 a.m. with Deacon Santos Jones officiating.
Burial will follow in the Three Rivers Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Diaz, James Hester, Jarrod Posada and Joshua Gonzales.
Angel Care Ambulance Paramedics will serve as honorary pallbearers.
