Mike was born in Boston, the son of the late Boston Police Sgt. Francis M. Gill and Cecilia (Constantine) Gill. A lifelong resident of Roslindale, Mike graduated from Catholic Memorial High School and later entered the military. A proud member of the United States Marine Corps, Mike served his country in Operation Desert Shield/Storm during the Gulf War. After honorable discharge from active duty. Prior to his retirement in 2023, Mikeâ??s final assignment was with the Evidence Control Unit. In his spare time, like his mom, Mike enjoyed indoor and outdoor gardening and, like his dad, reading fiction and non-fiction law enforcement and crime books.

Mike is survived by his sister Elizabeth and her partner Richard Haywood of California and his sister Christina Hayeck, her husband George and their children of Framingham. He leaves behind several cousins and their spouses, Patrick and Vicki, Robert and Robin, Michael and Christine, Mary, and Kellee and Ryan, along with special family friends The Mannings as well as many fellow officer friends and USMC brothers.
