Michael Jon Godek, 57, of Reese, formerly of Frankenmuth, died Thursday morning, January 30, 2025, at his home in Reese. He was born on October 12, 1967, in Saginaw, to the late Daniel and Terrie (Poitras) Godek. Michael was a graduate of Frankenmuth High School and continued his education to become a sheet metal worker through an apprenticeship program. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1986 until his honorable discharge in 1988. Michael was employed at Custom Engineering Heating & Cooling in Linwood for many years until his retirement. He also helped many people through the years with installing furnaces. Whether at home or in the community, Michael was the first to lend a helping hand. Known for his quick wit, he was able to make any situation funny. He was a loving father and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling with his fiancée Carol.
In addition to his fiancée Carol McIntyre, Michael is survived by his children, Rhianna (Anthony) Dempsey and Brielle Bauer; granddaughter, Evelyn Dempsey; brothers and sister, Daniel (Lana) Godek, Andrew (Nicole) Godek, Timothy Godek and Leigh Anne (Eric) Boden, and mother of his children, Linette Godek. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brothers, David Godek and Anthony Godek.
Cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Humane Society of Saginaw County, where Mike and Carol found their late loyal dog, Scooby. All of us at Ware Smith Woolever are honored that the Godek family has entrusted us to the care of their loved one. Condolences to the family may be made at www.wswfh.com
