Michael John Grappone, age 66, of Hastings, Florida passed away on September 18, 2022 at his home. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to John and Barbara Grappone.
Michael lived in New York and Connecticut, working at General Dynamics Electric Boat until he moved to his beloved Florida. He became a carpenter and master craftsman of wood. He loved working on yachts and working on shrimp boats in Cape Canaveral.
Michael will always be remembered and missed for his sense of humor, loyalty and love for his family. Like his father, he would give you the shirt off his back. If anyone needed help, he would be there. When sick himself, he would check to make sure we were okay. You always knew he would give his all. When asking a cousin what she remembered most, her reply was: "We were partners in crime". He had a way of being a leader of mischief.
Michael had a deep love for dogs and always had one by his side. He was never without one.
Once he moved to Florida he never wanted to go back to the cold and snow. Michael loved the sunshine, motorcycles and being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, nature, organic gardening and the ocean.
It's with a very heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to someone who was always there for us and can't be replaced.
His love and concern for his family will be forever cherished, missed and never forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John Peter and Barbara Grappone. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Grappone of Connecticut; brother, John Christopher Grappone of Connecticut; his daughter, Faith Farina of Connecticut, five grandchildren; cousins, Frank and Susan Grella of Florida, Jean Stack of New Jersey, Mary Phelan and Linda Talgo of New York and other beloved cousins.
Funeral and burial will be with family.
St. John's Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
