Obituary of Michael Peter Grassi
Michael Peter Grassi (Mike) 66 years old, was born Nov 3, 1958 in Brooklyn New York He went home on May 15, 2025.
Born to Jack Grassi and Mary DeFrancesco, he excelled in school and some sports. He began his love of classic cars working next to his dad Jack and was lucky enough to start his own dealership "Michael Chevrolet". After a while he began a new career as Dealership Manager for the Callari Auto Group and successfully managed BMW of Darien, and Mini of Fairfield county until his retirement.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife Katrina Rodriguez-Grassi. He is also survived by both sisters, Stepahnie Barella and her son Christopher Barella, Mike's nephew and godson, and Stephanie's husband Rick. Stephanie became his and Valerie's mother figure when Their mom Marie had to set up their table in Heaven and never wavered from her devotion to them both. His sister Valerie was also loved dearly by Mike and he cared for her in her times of need. He is also survived by former wife Ruth Olivo who bore him two beloved children, Michael A. Grassi and Lindsay M. Grassi. Mike has three loving Grandsons, Michael Brian Cornejo - son of Lindsay Grassi who reside in Nevada as well as Michael Jr's. two sons Jackson Ryan Grassi, and Roman Julian Grassi both sons of Michael A. Grassi and his loving wife Victoria. Jackson and Roman will proudly carry the Grassi name into the future with the same honor and dignity their Grandpa did.
Mike became step-father - actually devoted father - to Katrina I. Perez (Tina) and Anthony P. Perez (TJ), both children of Katrina Rodriguez-Grassi as well as devoted Grandpa to Tina's three children Christian Rivera, Hope Miranda, Patricia Rose Perez and Kismet Yuliza Perez. daughter of TJ Perez. Both Tina and TJ love Papa Mike dearly and he loved them dearly in return.
Mike had many good friends who became family. Pete Ramon and his wife Gladys have always been a rock for Mike. Pete is the loving brother Michael didn't have by blood. Pete is also Mike Jr's godfather whom he loves like his own. Mike and Pete met in College (Pace University) and became inseparable. Pete was always there for him and his love, their love, for each other never faltered. Tony and Virgin are also deeply loved friends who became family and Mike always talked about the good times they had. George Stevens was also a dear and devoted friend to Mike for many years and they spoke often even with all the miles between them.
Michael and Katrina shared many good times together. They had many good friends and traveled to many places enjoying their time together with so much love. They built a beautiful life together filled with love of family and friends and making a warm home that they shared with everyone. They met in 2004 and instantly knew they were meant to be. They never left each other's side through all those years and they made the best of each adventure, ups and downs and twists and turns. They Married on a bright September morning in 2013 and shared that incredible day filled with love with close family and friends. Michael was a very happy man that day and was not shy to show it to the world. That is the man we will hold in our hearts forever.
