Michael Wayne Hamilton, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024, in Ennis Texas.
Born to Preston and Ruth Hamilton on June 16, 1940, in Ft. Worth Texas, Mike was a true Texas native and loved the history his hometown holds and could tell you stories for hours on end.
Michael faced immense adversity including polio as a young child, a bullet wound, triple heart bypass and several strokes. Despite these challenges, Michael remained positive and uplifting.
Professionally, Mike had a big vision and dedication to become successful and directed a loan company in Louisiana. Later in life, he poured his heart into opening and running a successful salvage yard in Kennedale Texas. He spent his retirement directing an after-school daycare program.
Mike loved spending his times collecting trains and taking care of his many plants. He had a huge heart for animals, and you could always find him in the Wendys or Taco Bell parking lot, eating lunch with his dogs... and yes, he would order them food too.
Predeceased by his parents, Mike's legacy is carried forward by his loving daughters, Tracey Hamilton and Marlee Lovell (M: Justin Lovell), his two grandsons, Cole and Jacob Schaefer and new granddaughter, Everlee Jean Lovell whom he loved unconditionally.
A service to honor Mike's life will be held at the Midlothian Funeral Home, Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 1pm.
In a fitting tribute, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's hospital. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of love and support during this time.
