Michael Hampton

Michael Hampton, 79, of Plainfield, passed away surrounded by loving family members. He was born on May 24, 1943 in Greencastle to the late Roy and Ruth Hampton. Michael worked as the Transportation Director at the Mill Creek Community School Corporation for 31 years retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Stilesville Christian Church and former Chief of the Stilesville Fire Department. Michael enjoyed going to antique car shows and even owned 2 antique cars himself. He loved spending time with his family as often as he could. Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Hampton. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in the funeral home at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Stilesville Cemetery. Survivors include his high school sweetheart & wife of 60 years, Wanda "Sue" Hampton; daughters, Sandy (Rick) Jones and Lori (Dale) Bennett; sister, Beverly Bowen; grandchildren, Bradley Jones, Melissa Jones (Akbar Bakhshi), Eric (Carrie) and Evan Bennett; great grandchild, Noah Bennett.
