Michael Norman Harvey, born on June 11, 1952, in Waterloo, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024. Michael, lovingly known as Mike, was the cherished son of the late John J. "Jack" Harvey and Dolores J. Harvey. He spent his formative years in Waterloo, where he graduated from Columbus High School.
Mike's academic journey led him to the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. His quest for knowledge continued at Western Michigan University, where he received a Master's in Mechanical Engineering.
Mike had a distinguished career in engineering, beginning at Phillips Engineering in St. Joseph, MI. His professional path then took him to Tyler Refrigeration and Carrier Engineering, both in Waxahachie, TX, before he concluded his career with DC Engineering in Mansfield, TX.
On December 18, 1981, Mike married the love of his life, Maureen Harvey. Their union was a testament to love and companionship, and together they built a beautiful life in Midlothian, TX. Mike was a devoted husband and a proud father to two daughters, Megan Harvey of Dallas, TX, and Emily Harvey of New York, NY.
Mike's life was filled with a passion for various hobbies and activities. He found joy in camping, fishing, golfing, woodworking, gardening, cooking, hiking, traveling, swimming, and most importantly, spending quality time with his loved ones.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife Maureen, his daughters Megan and Emily, and his six siblings: Jon (Donna) Harvey of Denver, IA, Cindy (Dave) McFarlin of Mantorville, MN, Dave Harvey of Waterloo, IA, Tim (Donna) Harvey of Cedar Falls, IA, Lori (Mark) Iiams of Waterloo, IA, and Ben (Cherice) Harvey of Houston, TX. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. "Jack" Harvey and Dolores J. Harvey.
Michael Norman Harvey's legacy is one of dedication, love, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
