Michael Joseph Holbein was born November 11, 1985 in Laredo, Texas to Donald Ray Holbein and Karen Ballard. He passed away on Sunday, November 24,2024, at his home in Lawton. He was 39.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 5, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home, in Duncan. Services are planned for Friday, December 6, at 2:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Daniel Litchford, a very close family friend, officiating. A live stream of his chapel service will be available on his obituary page at www.whittfh.com. Serving as pallbearers will be US Army personnel. Military honors will be presented by the US Army. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Apache, OK.
Michael received his GED before entering the US Army in April, 2006. He received many commendations, medals, and badges during his service time. He was honorably discharged in September, 2024 as a Master Sergeant.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and watching sports. He loved football and Fantasy Football. He loved spending time with his family.
Michael is survived by his mother, Karen Ballard; children: Joshua Holbein, Emily Holbein, Keely Holbein, Adeline Holbein, Cade Holbein; brother, Justin Holbein of Ada; sisters: Krystal and husband Josh Martin of South Carolina and Roberta Ballard of Duncan; nieces: Mallory Murphy, Jocelyn Martin and Jenna Holbein; nephews: Eli Murphy and Bryson Holbein; and military brother, Robert Woodall and his wife Megan. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Holbein; daughter, Natalie Holbein; and grandparents: Elmo and JoAnn Burden.
Michael loved his military brothers and sisters and cherished the comradery among them. He admired Sgt Major Steve Devot for always having his 6. Thank you from his momma and his family.
