Kathy (Crookham) Holbein, age 59, of Stoutsville, OH went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Kathy is the daughter of Sylvia (Sherman) Crookham and the late James Crookham. She was born in Columbus, OH on April 27, 1966. Kathy was a 1984 Teays Valley graduate and worked for the State of Ohio in the Department of Taxation as a researcher. In her free time, Kathy loved going to Amish Country and antiquing with her “work husband” Michael York and was a faithful attender of Hedges Chapel CCCU where she served in the Nursery and Children’s Church. Kathy was a kind and generous person who would give to anyone in need. She will be terribly missed.
Kathy is survived by her mother, Sylvia Crookham; children, Michael (Brittany) Holbein of Alabama, Mark Holbein, Kaytie (Allen) Oney of Arizona, Kiran Holbein of West Virginia and Mason Holbein; grandchildren, Owen, O’Brien and O’Neil Holbein and Braxston and Ava Oney; sister, Kim (Doug) Alley; nephew, J.D. Alley; and great-nephew, James (J) Haubeil; as well as numerous cousins.
In addition to her father, James Crookham, Kathy is preceded in death by her niece, Lauren (Alley) Haubeil.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 11 at Noon at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville, OH with Pastor Rob Dauber and Reverend John Colburn officiating. Family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Reber Hill Cemetery, Ashville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hedges Chapel CCCU, 15495 Winchester Rd, Ashville, OH 43103. Condolences can be made online at olivercheekfuneralhome.com.
