Eric James Hootman, age 36, of Ashville, OH passed away September 21, 2025. Eric was born on May 18, 1989, in Columbus, OH to Charles Hootman III and Lori Simon. He was a graduate of Teays Valley High School. After high school, he provided roadside assistance for AAA and was a driver for Capital Towing. Eric found the most joy in watching THE Ohio State Buckeyes and riding his motorcycle with his friends.
Eric is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Jr. and Helen Hootman and his uncle David Hootman.
In addition to his parents, Eric is survived by his sisters Mindie Suzanne Hootman and Jennifer Rae Hootman-Garcia, along with his nephew, Kevin Eugene Campbell Jr.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24 at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103. In addition, a visitation will take place on Friday, September 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Herrick Compassionate Funeral Service, 951 Cliff Mine Rd. Imperial, PA 15126 followed by a Funeral Service at Noon on Saturday, September 27 with Pastor Steve Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in Robinson Cemetery in Bulger, PA.
