Michael A. Holstein, age 71, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away on September 26, 2025, at Dublin Methodist Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa W. Holstein (d.2021). Michael is survived by his brothers, David (Tracy) and Scott (Nancy). He will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephew: Allison Campbell (William), Heather Holstein, Stephanie Collins (Danny), Hannah Kline (Andrew), and John Michael Holstein (Ali); as well as by his four great-nephews and one great-niece. He is also survived by his aunt, Judith Euen Davis (John, d. 2024), their son Ian (Jacqueline), and grandchildren Lily and Max. Michael shared a lifelong, special bond with his cousin Brent Evans (Heidi) and was dearly loved by their children, Madelyn and Eleanor. Mike dedicated his entire career to serving the automotive safety industry as a manufacturers' representative. He began this journey in 1981, representing Whelen Engineering, and later expanded his business to include Havis Inc. and Pro-gard Products LLC. For 29 years, he proudly represented these companies before joining Whelen Engineering as a full-time employee. During his time at Whelen, Mike held several roles, but the one he cherished most was mentoring others. He had a unique gift for recognizing potential in people and guiding them-not by giving answers, but by encouraging thoughtful reflection and helping them find their own path forward. Mike often expressed deep gratitude for the companies he represented, saying, "They have put their faith in me, and to that I am extremely grateful and honored." He retired from Whelen Engineering in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, integrity, and meaningful mentorship. Mike was well known for his love of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and Corvettes. He and Lisa took many long journeys together-whether cruising on their Harley or driving their Corvette-exploring North America from Prince Edward Island to Arizona, from Florida to the Pacific Northwest, with countless memorable stops along the way. Michael's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many clinicians at Dublin Methodist Hospital who cared for him. Their expertise, compassion, kindness, and even their gentle humor provided great comfort to the family during an incredibly difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, a cause strongly supported by Whelen Engineering. Contributions can be made directly at www.give.michaeljfox.org or through Whelen's initiative at racingforacure.giving. Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High Street, Worthington, OH. A service will follow at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Lew Hildreth.
