Michael Hronek Obituary
Michael J. Hronek
11/20/51 – 6/25/24
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Michael Hronek of Moreland Hills. Michael passed away on Tuesday, June 25, at the age of 72.
He will be dearly missed by his sons Marcus (Lizzy Toth) and Daniel (fiancé Ashlyn Grose), his sisters Rosemary Miller (Bill), Kathleen Hronek, family friend Sherrie Zechman, his nieces Nancy Chester, Michele Spatny, and Jennifer Maki and his nephew Brian Miller, as well as special great nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends. Michael is predeceased by his wife Terhi, his parents Stanley and Angela, his niece Christina McGinty, and his brother Jim (Carol).
Michael was first and foremost a dedicated husband to Terhi and proud father to Marcus and Daniel – they cherished their sons. After Terhi's death in 2001, Michael was focused on raising Marcus and Daniel. He provided a loving home, support and guidance, and he even spent his Sundays preparing meals to make sure they had home cooking throughout the week. Michael and Terhi succeeded in sending two wonderful, caring people into this world. He was so happy that they each found a special person to spend their lives with - he adored Lizzy and Ashlyn.
Michael was surrounded by music early in life and pursued his passions while traveling throughout Europe and living in Sweden after college. He was a gifted musician who loved to play piano and who performed, composed and recorded music throughout his life. He enjoyed Cleveland's music scene and his connections with friends and fellow musicians. He recently attended music classes at Tri-C East, learning from fellow students and teachers. He was a lifelong learner, avid reader, and history buff with a witty sense of humor – he could joke about anything. Michael appreciated and loved his family, often saying how fortunate we all are to have stayed close and connected over the years. He most recently worked at Severance Hall as a greeter and usher. He loved the Cleveland Orchestra, his coworkers and spending time in this enriching environment.
While it is hard to accept his early and sudden departure from this world and from our lives, we will honor his life, hold his memory dear and always have a special place for Michael in our hearts.
