Michael Eugene "Mike" Hughes

Michael Eugene Hughes (Mike) passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at his home. Mike was born September 3, 1945 to Clarence Auburn Hughes and Eleanor Shealy Hughes. Mike was predeceased by his first wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Hughes and his second wife of 6 years, Carolyn Hughes. Mike is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie Boles and Suzanne Hughes, grandsons Michael Boles (Leah), Matthew Boles, great grandson Huxlee Boles, sister Robbie Lynch (Wayne), nephew Michael Lynch (Rachel), niece Rebecca Triplett (Daniel) and great niece and nephews Joseph Hill, Kiley Triplett, Cole Lynch and Landon Triplett.
Mike served in the USAF 1968 to 1972 where he taught sea survival. After his time in the Air Force he went to work with SCE&G where he retired. He was a member of the Cayce Masonic Lodge and the Jamil Shriners in the Jamil JokersClown Unit. In his retirement he loved spending time hunting and fishing and in his latter retirement years loved to take cruises.
