Michael Howard Ingalls
April 3, 1950 – May 22, 2025
Michael Howard Ingalls, 75, of Eagan, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born to the late Isabelle Sophia (Moe) Ingalls and Howard George Ingalls, Michael was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He spent several years living in Colorado Springs enjoying the outdoors before returning to Minnesota where he lived his remaining years near friends and family.
Michael was known for his warm spirit, sense of humor, and generous heart. He was an avid cook and self-proclaimed Weber BBQ pitmaster, who found joy in sharing meals and conversation with others. He loved fishing, backgammon, cribbage, camping, and being surrounded by nature. Growing up, his children affectionately referred to Michael as "Clark Griswold" as their family vacations always involved some unexpected misadventures.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Jean Ingalls and niece Shelly Lynne Glover; children, Jeffrey Michael Ingalls and his wife Amber (Vetsch) and Jessica Anne (Ingalls) Helm; grandchildren Alexandra Vetsch, Benjamin "Gwen" Ingalls, Lance Ingalls, Liam Helm, and Megan Helm; and his lifelong friends Rick and Sandy Bertz and their family.
Michael will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, and the way he made those around him feel at home.
A private family gathering will be held to honor his memory, and a celebration of life will be arranged in the near future.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mike's honor to:
