Michael Joseph Johnson

Michael Joseph Johnson, age 77, passed away on August 26, 2025. He was born on September 8, 1947 in Ashland, KY to Ethel (Lockhart) Johnson and Herbert Joseph Johnson. Mike grew up in Pleasure Ridge and enjoyed playing baseball for PRP. He went to college at EKU and met and married his life-long love, Pam Mont. After marriage and having two daughters, Mike got his teaching degree. He spent 27 years teaching history to high school students at Butler High School. He was a beloved teacher and basketball coach for several years and enjoyed teaching throughout his life. In his free time, he enjoyed an active lifestyle working out daily, and golfing with his long-time friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids and kids. He will be greatly missed by his adoring family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela (Mont) Johnson. He is survived by his daughters, Tina Cebe and Tiffany Higgs; and grandchildren, Travis Higgs, Savannah Higgs, Wyatt Cebe, and Isabella Cebe. His memorial visitation will be from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. Thursday August 28, 2025 at Owen Funeral Home – Jeffersontown 9318 Taylorsville Rd.
