Michael Owen Kelly, 44, passed away on July 1st, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, music, and love, cherished by his family and friends. Michael was so loved!
Michael was born February 3rd, 1980 to his loving parents Owen and Carolyn Kelly. He is survived by his devoted sisters, JaneAnn, Ramie and Mary, their husbands Adam, Jeff and Tim, and his five adoring nieces and nephews. Michael's quick wit and great sense of humor will be missed by countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Throughout his life, Michael battled with addiction, facing its challenges with hope and determination. Despite his own struggles, he possessed remarkable empathy, sympathy and compassion for others, especially those also caught in addiction. Knowing their pain, he would share his wisdom in hopes of alleviating even the smallest bit of it. His kindness and willingness to help others left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known him. The world could use more Michael Kellys!
Music was Michael's passion and solace. A talented guitarist, he found joy and peace in the melodies he created and shared. His love for music was infectious. Michael also found peace by the water, pursuing his other passion, bass fishing. Michael was a hard worker. He found purpose and took great pride in his job as a driver for Garden State Lumber. He fervently believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and it brings his family peace to know he is now rejoicing in the presence of the heavenly Father. It was his heartfelt desire that others experience Jesus' love as well.
Michael's memory will forever be treasured by his family and friends. Though his journey was marked with hardship, his spirit remains a testament to resilience, the power of kindness and the love of God. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his gentle soul, generous heart, and the music that lives on in those who loved him.
A visitation to celebrate Michael's life will be held on Saturday July 6th, 2-5pm at M. John Scanlan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Transformation Life Center in West Park, NY, a rehab center close to Michael's heart. For more information please visit, tlcny.org or call 845-384-6511.
Rest in peace, Michael. Your melody lives on in our hearts forever.

Praying Michael has the peace he has so long pursued. The struggle is finished, the race is over. He has crossed the the finish line- where he'll be reunited with his uncle Dan, his grandparents and all our beloved ancestors. It's his turn to meet the Savior, whom he loves! We love you, Michael! We'll see you again, of that we are certain! Love, Theresa and Paul Hurtado

Mike and I built a strong friendship quickly after meeting one another. We shared a deep musical connection that involved listening to the same music, playing guitar and attending live shows. We shared countless memories and endless laughter together.
Mike always had an amazing ability to walk into any room and become friends with everyone.
He wore his heart on his sleeve and would always let you know how much he loved you.
I admired these qualities so much!
Mike gave me the honor of introducing me to his huge, wonderful family and they immediately embraced me. I am forever grateful to all of them for sharing their love and support.
Mike and I reconnected after many years apart and I am thrilled we were able to rekindle our friendship.
Mike, it was an honor to be your friend and you will always be in my thoughts.
Rest in peace brother...

Michael was a big part in my family life. I met Michael in Christmas time in my home. When I saw him I said ... oh I have an angel in my house , he laughed, well he became one . Michael was the most beautiful soul , he was with me and my family in the most difficult times also his family. You see him and the first thing you see is his smile. Love playing the guitar he use to teach my younger son . He became a big brother to my kids. He knew that he was loved by my family. Any situation... there is Michael. My heart is broken and I´m in deep pain. When I heard the news I remember this words that he told my husband.absent from the body and be in present with the lord... this is the most beautiful thing that you can know. Now he is in his presence, no more pain or struggles. He playing his guitar and singing for the lord. I´m sure my husband is ready to go fishing with him. I will keeping alive with the memories that we had . Is not a goodbye ....is I will see you later. He was love by us and he knew it. My deepest condolences to the whole family. And Owen and Carolyn my heart goes out to you in this difficult times
