In Loving Memory of Michael Thomas Kloberdanz
1944 - 2025
With profound love and deep sorrow, the family of Michael Thomas Kloberdanz announces his passing on January 27, 2025, in River Oaks, Texas. Surrounded by his beloved family in his final moments, Michael departed this world with the same grace, strength, and unwavering faith that defined his life.
Michael was born on April 3, 1944, in Belmond, Iowa, to his devoted parents, Frank Sylvester Kloberdanz and June Naomi Soma-Kloberdanz. Raised in a hardworking farming family, Michael's early years were steeped in the values of diligence, integrity, and faith. At a young age, his family relocated to the Fort Worth area when his father took a position with Cargill, and it was there that Michael grew into the man so deeply cherished by all who knew him.
From an early age, Michael's life was guided by the principles of faith and family. Baptized as a young child and raised in the Lutheran tradition, he remained steadfast in his beliefs throughout his life. His faith was not merely something he practiced but a cornerstone of his character, influencing the way he loved, worked, and served those around him.
A man of unwavering dedication, Michael embarked on his professional journey immediately after high school, securing a job with Wyatt's Grocery, which later became Kroger. Over the course of 44 years, he built a distinguished career, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike. As a store manager, he exemplified leadership, hard work, and an unshakable commitment to excellence. Even after his well-earned retirement, Michael continued to give of himself, dedicating time as a volunteer at Mineral Wells State Park, where he found great joy in fishing, camping, and embracing the tranquility of nature.
Above all, Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was the embodiment of strength, protection, and selflessness-always putting his family's needs before his own. His love story with his beloved wife, Judith, was one of true partnership and devotion. Married for 32 years until her passing in April 2022, they were inseparable, sharing life's joys and challenges with unwavering support. Michael was not only her protector but her greatest source of love and companionship, and their bond remains a testament to the beauty of a life lived together in love.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Michael took immense pride in supporting his children's athletic and school events, always their most devoted fan. His meticulous nature extended to his home, where he maintained an immaculately kept yard-a source of great personal pride. In his steadfast commitment to routine, he would even rise at 2 a.m. to manually water his lawn, ensuring it remained pristine. He found joy in life's simple pleasures, treasuring the consistency and order that shaped his days. His beloved cat, Tigger, was a constant companion, bringing him great comfort and joy.
Michael's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Ana Kloberdanz for her selfless care, love, and dedication in looking after both him and Judith over the past decade. Her unwavering support was a gift beyond measure.
Michael is survived by his loving sons, Steven Kloberdanz, Craig Kloberdanz and his wife, Ana, and Keith Kloberdanz and his wife, Katy; his stepchildren, Jim Wolfe and his wife, Doreen, Beth Valdez and her husband, John, and David Wolfe; his cherished grandchildren, Amanda Hinckley and her husband, Howard, Ashley Roper and her husband, Robert, Ryan Kloberdanz, Daniel Herrera, and Melanie Herrera; his dear brother, Paul Kloberdanz; his sister, Susan Farmer, and her husband, David; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, extended family members, and treasured friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith Kloberdanz; his parents, Frank and June Kloberdanz; his son, Brian Kloberdanz; his brothers, Ronald, James, and Jerome Kloberdanz; and his stepson, Richard Wolfe.
Michael's life will be honored and celebrated on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Azle Funeral Chapel, located on the grounds of Azleland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
A man of profound faith, integrity, and devotion, Michael Kloberdanz leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family. While he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

My deepest condolences to the family of Michael. He was a really good neighbor, he knew my family for years! Will miss not seeing him cutting the yard, he always kept it real nice! He will truly be missed and my prayers to Kloberdanz family.

So sorry to hear of the death of my cousin Michael Kloberdanz. We saw Michael , Ronnie, & Jimmy often in their younger years when we were all kids and we all often visited our Soma Grandparents. We missed all of them when they moved to Texas. While Ronnie was alive I used to call him on the phone. If any of you Kloberdanz cousins would like to connect with me, ask to be my friend on Facebook. Once again my sympathy to all of you.
