Michael Steven Kubik, age 61, of Mokena, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 9, 1964, Michael lived a life full of love, laughter, and loyalty, leaving an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him.
On April 30, 2023, Michael married the love of his life, Donna Marie (nee Andriola), at Naper Settlement in Naperville, Illinois. Brought together by fate, they shared a bond rooted in faith and mutual devotion. Michael often said he was the lucky one to have met Donna, while she lovingly said the same of him. Together, they were two souls perfectly matched, guided by God.
A graduate of Morton West High School, Michael built his career as an electrician, known for his hard work and incredible skill. He had a big personality-welcoming and warm, yet commanding enough to fill any room. He was the type of man who turned friends into family and was always there when needed.
Michael had a passion for riding his Harley, taking unforgettable road trips to places like Sturgis, the Badlands, Florida, and New York. He rarely missed a cancer charity Harley ride and gave generously of both his time and his heart. A true craftsman, he could fix just about anything. He loved music-especially Rush-and Christmas was his favorite holiday. Above all, he cherished his family and the life he built with Donna.
Michael was also known for the joy he found in spending time with his uncle Richie, often sharing laughs, stories, and good times together. His memory will forever be tied to his generosity, humor, and love of adventure.
Michael is reunited in heaven with his parents, Carmella and James, and his brother, Kirk. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Donna; his brother Jim (Kathy) Kubik and family; his uncle Bob Lyons; his aunt Lucy Lyons; his aunt Martha (Bob) Halstead; his faithful dogs, Elliot and Adrian; and countless friends who became family along the way.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Michael's life on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Mokena, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, followed by a service at 3:00 PM.
In honor of Michael's generous spirit, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Ride Janie Ride Foundation, a cause close to his heart.
Michael will forever be remembered for his boundless love, his larger-than-life presence, and the way he gave so much of himself to others. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
