Michael F. Kucera

Michael F. Kucera, known affectionately as Mike, went to his heavenly home on August 28, 2023. He was a cherished husband to Shannon, a loving father to Andrew, father-in-law to Brieta, and an amazing mentor to many. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on June 29, 1968, Mike led a selfless life committed to his number one priority, his family; drawn to acting on whatever was placed on his heart. His inclination to serve others was a perfect testament to his deep faith and love for humanity.
Mike graduated from Father Judge High School and attended Orleans Technical Institute prior to launching his career in the HVAC field. For 35 years, Mike was an incredibly hardworking and dedicated HVAC tech and a proud member of the Local 420 Union for 24 of those years. His work family at Tri-State HVAC will fondly remember Mike as the man who had all the answers. Despite his vast knowledge, technical prowess, and ability to figure out the most complex of problems - Mike was as humble as they come.
When he wasn't in his work boots, jeans, belt, and tucked-in shirt – you could find him spending time at the shore, speeding through the snakes on his WaveRunner, enjoying live music, and spending time with the people who cared deeply for him. Mike's adventurous spirit was only surpassed by his love for his family, faithful dogs Ellie Mae and Noah, and grand-dog Odie.
Friends and family may visit with Michael's family Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 1:30 to 2:45 pm at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, 13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19116. A celebration of Michael's life will follow Saturday at 3:00 pm held at Calvary Chapel.
Mike's life was a continuous journey of love, faith, and service. In this vein we ask that in lieu of flowers, please live the way Mike lived. Act on whatever is placed on your heart. Do a good deed for a neighbor, a stranger, or a person in need. "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." (John 15:13)
