Michael R. Leininger, 56, husband of Michael M. Mazzerle, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at his home in Pottstown.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Ronald Richard Leininger and Nedra Elizabeth (Braun) Leininger.
Michael was an avid collector of Barbie Dolls. He liked playing videogames and was known as a "people person". He enjoyed socializing amongst his friends and family and was known to have a heart of gold. He was always extremely selfless and willing to help others at the drop of a dime. Michael gave it 110% with his battle with cancer the last 5 years. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Surviving along with his husband, Michael, is his brother Bob Leininger, husband of Anita; sister Barbara Levan; nephew Jesse Levan, husband of Shannon; nephew Ryan Leininger; great nephews Liam & Owen Levan, and Ezekiel Leininger. He is predeceased by his brother Ronald Leininger and his grandparents Catherine and Jacob.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 2:00PM at Catagnus Funeral Home (711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464). Viewing will also be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 1:00PM-2:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately by the family at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center (https://www.pennmedicine.org/cancer) or to HIV/AIDS preventative Research through Penn Medicine ( https://www.pennmedicine.org/for-patients-and-visitors/find-a-program-or-service/infectious-diseases/hiv-clinic) in Michael's name.
