On Friday, July 14, 2023 Michael at Age 72 of New York, passed away peacefully. He was born in Budapest, Hungary. At a very young age he left from Hungary and his adventurous journey continued in New York City.
He was motivated by his dreams. An unfortunate diving accident happened in the mid-70s that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Despites this tragedy he focused all his efforts and with an unbelievable discipline and dedication, he graduated College and finished Law School as well. In January, 1991 he earned his Doctorate Degree in Law.
Keep in mind, Michael did all these while he was paralyzed and needed constant assistance even for the very basic functions of life.
From the early 90's up to the last moments of his of his life he actively served the Hungarian community all over the US and everyone who asked him for help or advice.
Michael had an incredible aura, and presence so he was able to impact people around him with his sharp, green eyes and joy full smile.
He loved to make people laugh and his unexpected spirit or play made an impression on those who had a good future meeting him.
Even after a few minutes in his presence made people feel glad to know him.
His lifelong battle with his impaired condition made him a real fighter and an inspiration.
Michael Levai is survived by his beloved wife Edina Levai. His stepson Adam Christoph, and his sister Erzsebet Levai.
Memorial Services is scheduled for Friday the 28th of July 2023 at the St Joseph Church. 404 E 87th Street NY, NY at 3:00PM. Online condolences through www.smith-taylor-ruggeriofuneralhome.com.
