Michael Lemon Maddox, 78 of Canton, Georgia passed away Monday, July 14, 2025 at Cameron Hall in Canton, GA.

Michael was born on Monday, November 15, 1946, in Marietta, Georgia son of the late Lemon Maddox and Daisy Sheppard Maddox. He graduated from North Cobb High School in 1964 and Southern College of Technology in 1966. He was a veteran of U.S. Army and prior to retirement was employed with AT & T/ Lucent Technology. He was a member of Our Lady of La Salette Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Treasurer of the local Chapter for several years.

He Loved the outdoors; drives in the mountains and photography. He loved his grandchildren. He loved reading about history and visiting Civil War sites.

He met his wife, Carol Westman Maddox in 1971, married her in 1972 and was married for 52 years until her death in October 2024. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Scott Maddox and by a brother, Gary Maddox.

Survivors include his children, Larry Maddox; Michelle Renn (Michael); grandchildren, Cadence Renn and Leah Renn; sister, Glenda Stage; brother, Randy Maddox; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at our Lady of La Sa Salette Catholic Church with Father Mark Starr officiating. Interment will follow in Rolling Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St Jude Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org.
