Michael Richard "Mike" Malloy

Michael Richard Malloy, 67, of Rusk went to be with our Lord on February 28, 2025 at his home in Rusk surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 28, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas on Thanksgiving Day to Everett Audrey Malloy and Edith Carlson Malloy. During his youth, Mike played baseball, basketball and football. He loved to fish and ski. Many of his weekends were spent on the water or at the beach in Matagorda. Though he did it strictly for enjoyment, Mike was an accomplished artist. His paintings reflect his love of the outdoors. Mike graduated from Humble High School, Humble, TX and worked as a TSA Compliance Manager for Ares Air Freight Systems.
Mike is survived by his son, Steven Malloy of Rusk; daughter: Emily Cloningner of Cypress; grandchildren: Michael Malloy, Haven Malloy, Hunter Cloningner, Jace Cloningner, Bella Cloningner; brother: Jimmy Malloy; sister: Mary Malloy; sister: Carol Jamison and husband Darrell; sister: Pat Lovato; nieces and nephews: Shawn Tullos, Chevonne Calvert, Chris Miller, Cody Miller, Garrett Lovato, Amy Johnson, Taryn Lovato; as well as a number of extended family members and friends. Mr. Malloy is preceded in death by his parents, his brother: Kelly Malloy and nephew: Michael Jamison.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, 221 West 5th Street, Rusk, TX.
