Michael Robert Marzec

Michael Robert Marzec, 45, of Rome, OH passed away, unexpectedly on February 5, 2026 at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. He was born November 19, 1980 in Mayfield, OH, a son of Robert L. Marzec and Sherri A. (Mitchell) Wilkinson.

Michael attended Crestwood High School in Mantua. He worked as a carpenter and also helped transport the Amish. Michael loved the outdoors, whether it was camping, hunting or fishing. He also liked collecting coins, and was the type of guy who was quick to lend a hand when needed.

He is survived by his father, Robert L. (Michelle) Marzec, mother, Sherri A. (Gary) Wilkinson, children; Gregory M. Marzec of Chicago, IL; Caleb M. Marzec of Rome, OH and Kyleigh L. Degregario of Rome, OH; siblings Michelle (Mitch) Shaw of Cleveland OH; Jason (Charlene) Marzec of Mentor, OH; Tyler (Heather) Wilkinson of Rome, OH; Conrad (Jen) Wilkinson of Jefferson, OH; and Samantha (John) Watts of Painesville, OH, many nieces and nephews including a special niece Kayla, as well as his companion, Jessica Lorraine and his cat Itty Bitty. He was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Bongiovanni, sister, Diane Shaw, maternal grandmother, Betty (Nee Gerlosky) Clark, paternal grandmother, Marian (Bates) Spradlin and paternal grandfather, Leonard Marzec.

A private service will be held for family, a public celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Carl W. Hall Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements for cremation.
