Michael Angelo Massa, 65, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
Michael was born on January 16, 1959, to Matilda and Louis Massa in Galveston, TX.
Dedicating over four decades of his life to the restaurant business, Michael followed in his father's footsteps, alongside his brother Joseph, at Massa's Restaurant and Massa's Seafood Grill in downtown Houston. Their culinary legacy became a cornerstone of the city's dining scene, beloved by locals and visitors alike.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Michael was deeply involved in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, serving on both the Parade and International Committees for many years. Throughout his life, Michael found joy in a variety of hobbies and pursued them with excellence, relishing moments spent riding motorcycles, dancing, sailing, woodworking, biking, golfing, scuba diving, fishing, and more. Whatever endeavor he undertook, he always forged new friendships along the way.
He leaves behind his beloved daughter Michelle, along with his siblings Josephine, Anita, and Joseph.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Ponzini Family Life Center at St. Mary's of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Texas City from 1:00-3:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at Mo's Place from 6:00-8:00 p.m. 21940 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77450.
