Michael V. McCarry

Michael V. McCarry, 72, of Hampstead, NH, died Thursday July 11, 2024 peacefully with his family by his side at Arbors of Bedford, NH. He was born on March 20, 1952 in Queens, NY, a son of Felix and Helen McCarry.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Grawin, her husband, Ryan and two grandsons, Evan and Nicholas Grawin of Londonderry, NH; and several extended family members and friends.
Michael grew up in Brooklyn, NY and spent his summers at Rockaway Beach, NY. He had a love of water at a young age, especially the ocean. He enjoyed boating and fishing on Jamaica Bay as a teen and young adult. He met the love of his life, his wife Elvira (deceased) at Fordham University. They had been inseparable until her death in 2016. He lived in Delmar, NY for almost 40 years and had a long prosperous career with the State of New York. In 2017, he moved to Hampstead, NH to be closer to his daughter. He enjoyed time on Angle Pond with friends and family.
Michael loved people, dogs and cherished his family most of all. He was an avid reader and because of this was a walking encyclopedia! He was very proud of his Irish heritage and had red hair, a trait that he has passed down to his grandson!
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A Catholic Prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Rd., Londonderry. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hampshire SPCA in lieu of flowers.
