Michael Robert "Mike" McGill

Michael "Mike" Robert McGill, Sr, 65, of Dallas, passed away at Atrium Health Pineville on September 29, 2025. He was born June 13, 1960, in Gaston County, to the late Douglas George McGill and Sybil Ann Hindman Hamblin.

Mike was proud of his Native American heritage and held great respect for its traditions, often taking joy in attending pow wows. He loved fishing, motorcycles, and dirt track racing, and he found peace in the quiet moments spent in nature. An avid herbalist, he took pride in carefully tending his garden, where he devoted himself to the art of pruning and cultivating plants. His life was marked by a deep appreciation for both his heritage and the simple pleasures he cherished, and his memory will be forever treasured by those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 40 years, Sissy McGill; children, Wendy McGill, Robert Stephenson (Shellie), Michael McGill, Jr (Gina), Doug McGill, Christian Vincent (Brenna), Cayla Vincent; grandchildren, Alec, Zach, Tucker, Taylor, Clayton, Kennadee, Brandon, Sierra, Colby, Kaiser, Noah, Jackson, Auburn, Chelsie, Thomas, John, Marilyn, and Gunner- due in February; sister, Ann Sanderson, brothers, Charles McGill, and Rick McGill.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Upper Room Tabernacle Church on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Mike's funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Upper Room Tabernacle Church with Pastor Norman Greene officiating.
